THE DECEPTION IN SHAKESPEARE PLAYS

People often say they do not deceive even though they are intentionally concealing important information.People would like to think this because it makes it easier to deceive others. According to Criss janis:“Just because something isn't a lie does not mean that it isn't deceptive. A liar knows that he is a liar, but one who speaks mere portions of truth in order to deceive is a craftsman of destruction".

The issue of deception in Shakespeare's plays often reflect a characteristic of human nature that time and that are relevant today. The idea of deception in the works of Shakespeare have many different faces. Sometimes it's a accidental deception  and other as a defense against further damage as in the work of Otello and of course not forget the cases in which deception has a well-planned tactical way into the hands of evil characters as Julio Cesar.

When comparing  Hamlet and dream of a summer night plays , someone can easily list many dualities like tragedy and comedy, a sad ending and a happy ending, seriousness and mockery, but in the case of patterns similarities repeated deception should be the first to reach one's mind. Obviously, in a brief entry in this blog I could not show them all my research on this issue, since this phenomenon occurs in all the author's works and would make endless and do not want to make this in a PhD paper, but I want to provide the reader two of the works of Shakespeare as deception appears as a basic component of the plot in Hamlet and Othello.

In Hamlet, deception is used as a tool to deflect attention and hide their strange but vital movements and activities needed to gather enough information about Claudio. The deception is in the form of madness that Hamlet simulate conspicuously absent. Moreover deception can be found in the staging of the murder of Gonzago, Hamlet by deception of his madness  wants to catch him because claudio is responsible by the death of Gonzago.

In Othello, the idea of deception  is in the mind of the character Lago. Through this character, readers are able to visualize how bad it is to deceive and the damage it can cause to which he has been deceived. Lago shows that he is a person who has earned the trust of Othello for his own needs, this can be perceived when he says "I am what I am", that shows his true intentions. The ability to pretend is not really what makes us feel manipulated. The handkerchief in Othello was more than just an accessory in a play. It served to reveal the true characteristics of a number of characters and at the same time came to make a difference in what was initially thought to represent. After all the events that occurred in Othello, the main functions of the handkerchief was known to promote the theme of things are not always what they seem.

 Essential To Bertolt Brench

Brencht Bertolt German poet and playwright, was a genius to express his language in his poems and plays, his words were so clear, sincere and direct, he closed the reader  to instruct without arrogance in thoughts. A thought which was based on simplicity and boldness was even able to condemn his own weaknesses. There is a quote from Bertolt brencht I want to dedicate it to all those essential which says: "There are men who fight one day and are good; others fight for a year and are better. There are some who fight several years and are very good. But there are those who fight all their lives. Those are  essential".
This quote captivated me more when Silvio Rodriguez says it when he sings "Dream Snake" and since then I live thinking that are essential to living to support his people, struggling to give love, to live in peace, they are those hold fast to their ideology, they promote their beliefs, they are given to the most in need, they are fighting for their rights and for a more just, they  fight against any adversity, by discrimination, poverty and social injustice. The essential people leave footprints for his paintings, sculptures, for his musical compositions, for his poems, novels, plays and essays, their intelligence, for their happiness and dedication. The essential people never grow old.  Are you essential?

A WALK ALONG THE OLD VIENNA

"VIENNA lordly and majestic imperial city, crossed by the Danube immortal, so elegant, the beautiful city of Vals, so exciting, with its nostalgic tendency toward the old, in you feel the outpouring of the past, full of happiness thriving art ... You Vienna truth! " ( Ann Louise poems Dedicated to the Romantics, dreamers and lovers nostalgic Waltz) .

From my earliest childhood I dreamed of visiting the city of Vienna dragged by the romanticism that I transmitted the film "Empress Sisi" starring "Romi Schneider". I looked on a world globe that I had given to Magi I closed my eyes and swayed by the Strauss waltz my grandfather's record player.I consider myself a lover of the European capital of classical music, but that childhood dream came true when they were 21 years old, I went to study and work as an Au Pair for a period of time that was the best time of my life there I obtained three very important inner values beauty, experience and intelligence.

Vienna is an elegant city on the shores of the Danube, in which every day I could submerged in its history, because each district of the city is an enigma but I have to say that in the first district includes much of the monuments. In this city every street, square corner offers a architectural abstract since we can find buildings of virtually all ages and also much of European artistic trends, while recognizing that most of the art treasures due to Habsburg Dynasty .

Vienna City has lots of museums like the "Museum of Fine Arts and the natural sciences" where are the best art collections. Both are one in front of each other separated by a Empress Maria Theresa of Austria statue, but I must also point out that we can also find museums with collections from artists such as "Otto Wagner" and "Gustav Klim "to small museums or curious  museums, but no less important that all deserve special mention for me and I recommend visiting, but the truth is that Vienna itself is an outdoor museum that when you walk along the streets takes you back  in time.

Numerous palaces spread across the city but the best known and most visited is the Summer Palace of" Schonbrunn".This palace known as the Viennese Versailles , it is located on the outskirts of the city and surrounded by forest area, the name of the palace is due to its beautiful fountain discovered by Habsburg son Matias maximiliano the second. It was the summer residence of the Habsburgs and since 1996 was declared World Heritage by UNESCO.

Another  palace  just as  known and visited is  "the Hofburg Imperial Palace" when you are there you feel something strange because it's like a city within a city.

It is interesting to scan  the furniture and decoration, appliances and clothing also the Empress. It also provides a historical view what she is like was and how Empress daily life of the was. There are also beautiful palaces that host museums  also other events including music concerts such as the "Liechtenstein Palace" or "The Belvedere Palace" wonderful inside and outside for its gardens. While walking the streets of the city we can find facades of some private palaces but no less interesting than the others.

You cannot leave town without visiting vienna emblematic buildings and monuments of the Ringstrasse as "The Vienna  Opera" one of the world's most famous, "the Burgertheater" (Imperial Theatre).

"The Town Hall" building whose
architect was inspired by the Grande Place in Brussels. the highlight of this building is its ceremonial hall which hosts the New Year's Eve gala.

"Parliament" is a beautiful and impressive building inspired by the architecture of ancient Greece and Rome. the most notable is its facade that looks like a Greek temple, the attic is crowned with 60 statues of the most important of the ancient Roman and Greece. In front of the parliament is the font of the Greek goddess of wisdom "Palas Atenea," which holds out his hand to the Greek goddess of victory, the winged goddess "Nike".

walking the streets of the old town or you find a large square where St. Stephen's Cathedral is a symbol of the city. This cathedral was built on a Romanesque church and has been growing architectural and artistically, but suffered a major fire, which was repaired in a short time, noting that it was declared a cathedral in 1723 and also most noteworthy are the numerous works of art from different centuries .

There is something very original in this temple is that the master builder Anton Pilgram in the pulpit sculpted busts of several popes and also is self portrait head poking through a window, the pulpit is known as the pulpit of frogs such as frogs and salamanders were evil symbols carved into the bararandilla who are frightened by a dog. This cathedral is a catacomb where is buried several of the emperors of the Habsburg dynasty. In this cathedral in 1782 married the famous Musician and composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his funeral was held in 1791. Throughout the year, the most notable concerts take place in December the Mozart Requiem commemorating the death of this celebrated composer.Do not leave behind the other churches that are smaller but are just as splendid as the cathedral and it is been able to delight in them also high quality concert, we must mention St. Rupert the oldest  Church in Vienna,  it has got  a great Romanesque architectural.

Well between visits a walk in the wonderful Danube and also for the wonderful landscaped gardens and parks that look out this great city to the delight of all residents and visitors, but that I leave to the next Friday, as I will devote several week to this wonderful city that gave me so many good times and I will never forget and want to share those memories with you with a nice cup of tea.
